In reference to hard drives, how many megabytes exactly are in a gigabyte?

It turns out that 1 gigabyte is not equal to 1024 megabytes. This actually changed sometime around 1999 according to the article.

The SI need to learn that computing works in base 2. Not base 10.

Although base 10 computers would blow my mind.

we use base 2 because of the nature of digital circuits. But we do convert a lot of information to hex.
