My 3D Model of Kakashi Hatake
Ok so like 2 months ago i decided to take a break from programming (cause it was doing my head in at the time xD).. And i didnt really plan on it, but i started modelling instead.. The internet didnt work, and found a setup of Maya in the mess on my desktop xD.. I use 3DS Max now though..

Well im making Kakashi Hatake frome Naruto.. Its actually for a game called Naruto: Abunai. Its gonna be an MMO based on Naruto. Im not really part of the developer team, i was just searching for tuts on YT and saw a vid of them asking for help lols. So i told them i'd make them a few models..

I origonally wanted to make Shino Aburame, but then i started watching Naruto, and chose to do Kakashi instead ^^. Im on ep 176 atm xD..

Some pics:

Sry for the largish image sizes >.<
Its not finished yet.. I'd say im just under half way done xD..

Ive made the body and the ninja gloves, boots and jacket. I still need to do some work on the gloves though, and a bit more on the boots. The jacket needs the most work atm...

I know its not really finished yet, Dan said i should post it though, sry i took so long xD.. I guess ill just keep updating this thread everytime i get something major done..

Things i still have to do (not including improvements ^^):
Make rest of his cloths..
Give him Hair ^^
Make his headband
Fix his face (so it looks like Kakashi.. more..)
UWV Map + texture him
Rig him
Make normal + spec maps for the low poly version..
Make him read a book ^^

Its currently around 12k polys with everything on MS 1, im aiming for under 15k for final model.. I think the final model's gonna be around 13k tho, but im not really worrying about polycount right now..

So what do you think of it so far? (critisism is welcome, if its Censored i need to know xD)

Nice work thus far on it firesign. Don't really have anything to critique on it since it's still WIP, and you're lucky you don't have to do much texturing on it since it's from an anime.

Ty ^^

I am lucky lol, need some practice with texturing.. Never really thought about texturing it till now xD its gonna be easier than i thought.

Im just curious about rigging though, cause ive been deleting the hidden polys, and ive been getting error when making his cloths, ill google the cloth errors later though, but its ok to delete the hidden stuff right? I mean, if you were rigging a model of rayman, would you get errors?

Did the rest of his cloths =] I really dont have that much left to do now, i thought the cloths were gonna take alot more time.

So thats it so far Laugh Just gotta do little work on the jacket, and the cloths, then i can sart on his headband + hair =]..

The whole thing's 12k polys right now, and ive got alot of realistic option which would shave off a few hundreds, and even thousands of polys.. I could get it down to 9k right now, and make a damn good normal map xD

I remember that 3DSmax had a hair tutorial. Why don't you check it out?

RE: My 3D Model of Kakashi Hatake
I checked the tutorialsthat came with Max before, ill check again if theres a hair one. It'll probably use the hair modifier though. Anime hair really doesnt work with the hair modifier , or atleast not Kakashi's..

I've decided to put my model on hold for now. My vid card is giving trouble, so ive put my old one in, everything's fine but Max lags alot now lol. I think ill go back to programming for a while.
